About the Wild (Fragaria virginiana)
and Woodland Strawberry (Fragaria vesca)

Wild Strawberry.jpg

The Wild Strawberry (Fragaria virginiana) and the Woodland Strawberry (Fragaria vesca) thrive in loose, well drained soil. These are also the perfect conditions for a bumblebee colony. As well, the early blossoms provide a valuable food source for the bees. So in early spring, be mindful of the ground and growing conditions. Give some time for the first growth of spring to reveal the conditions to you because this very well could lead you to finding the potential new home of some lovely bumblebees!
